Two sides to me Category: Writing and Poetry I find that there's two sides to me Like tug of war bewteen me and thee Pulling me two ways apart Keeping me from sharing art One side is a virtuous boy Clinging to his childhood toys Helping people cross the street Kind to people that he meets The other side's a selfish fool Over every single girl I drool Acting like a stupid tool Hoping people think I'm cool Taking things I didn't earn Never a lesson did I learn Never giving others a turn On the merry go round of hell I burn One side's fire, the other's ice One is thoughtful, the other doesn't think twice One side's an innocent cute little boy Who cries when someone steals his toys Who gets all choked up over the national anthem The other side's tasted phonies and would just as soon kill them Hi, my name is Brian I'm Brian the lion and I aint lyin' My Larry the Lion doll used to say, "I'll protect you" Every time I was feeling scared In my darkened room with nobody there He helped me fall fast asleep Protected me from the bogey man creep My sister's Ken and Barbie dolls Stared at me from over by the wall They didn't give a shit at all If I was scared My dad and Mom sang with me A song about Jesus that made me happy I miss my dad right now real bad He died a while back and it made me sad My mom's still around and that makes me glad
