The Lonely Hill Category: Writing and Poetry I wanted too much attention I came up with a new invention I learned how to share my soul With the children of rock and roll Selfish though my motives were I found a way to make time blur But I have to tell the truth my friends I'm just a fool with jaded ends With tattered spirit and flagging will I'll make you believe that I'm not ill But I'm just another selfish guy Who blew his mind out getting high Escaping life and all it's pain Trying not to see the rain I've work to do Wish I had more time to spend with you Those who feel me know I'm real I love you so much and all your zeal Take my hand we'll walk to the heavens Roll the dice and get seven elevens We'll win the game Take no blame have no shame It's all the same In the name The precious name Of the one who had no blame Into this evil world he came To take upon him all our shame Cat of nine's he endured for us He couldn't even take the bus He had a heavy cross to bear With woven cotton underwear Upon the hill he met his fate And millions of dead ended their wait The evil master was defeated there Upon that lonely hill where blood ran bare
