Snowy Night 

It was Christmas time and dark in the night
Snow covered everything and all was white
The deer and their families were running by
I stared through my window and let out a sigh
All the other soldiers had already gone home
I was the only one here at the barracks all alone
At 19 years old I was three thousand miles away
From my mom and my sister and the fields where I play
I tried to go out and be social for a while
I ended up coming back to my room and curling up in a pile
I prayed right then and there for Jesus' love
I broke down and cried like a baby or a morning dove
All of a sudden a warm feeling came over me
I felt like I was being held by a sheperd from Galilee
Though I couldn't hear audible words
Something told me with beautiful verbs
Brian I love you and everything is alright
You are my son and I'm holding you tight
I will hold you my son until I know you'll be fine
And I'll always be with you until the end of time
So rest now my son and close your tired eyes
For I will be watching over you with angels that fly
If you ever need me again son just call out my name
