Oh Snap Category: Writing and Poetry Time racing by Things to do Ruining my chi I miss the boat again Look at all the happy souls riding together The faint silhouette of their boat Disappearing off over the horizon Can't reach them with Verizon Another lonely day I will be my own best friend What do I like What do I feel is important What do I prefer I have two computers to fix I'm putting it off to write this poem I'm supposed to be working From home Slipping, sliding, barely hiding Floating, swimming, solution brimming Bodies of water Bodies in water Swimming through the aftermath Of a forgone conclusion Flailing arms reaching for the underworld Grasping at straws as they fall Helplessly down the pit Their voices trailing off in the distance Can't call them with friends and family plan Can't quench their fire with sand Fiords are oozing with Vikings who are boozing They have AA in Norway Iceland has hot springs that power the country Bubbling up from a firey caldron of heat Purifying all that it melts And the Vikings of the new world Raise a toast To the fire god with the most Catching cod fish along the coast I might venture to boast That I know a Viking Named Vibeke She doesn't come here anymore Lives in a small village in Norway She must be the light of the town The goddess of her small village I miss her But she is real Not bound by the constraints of the obligation to reciprocate To write poems and masterbate To the kudos that flow as the favor's returned Gratification burned Another wheel is turned And you start all over again from scratch And you don't even get any snatch Oh snap
