My Friends Category: Writing and Poetry I love you my friends Though I've known you but a short time When my soul is at it's darkest depths When I'm taking Hell's first steps At my funeral people wept All those promises never kept My poor mom she hardly slept Turned her into a nervous wreck Begged her to write another check Burned out in a ball of flames Learned the true meaning of shame Nobody else was to blame My Friends are here to lift me up When I get knocked down by the masses Students rushing off to useless classes Careless crowds of busy sheep When they get their checks they weep The hill of life is very steep The task master demands all your blood This burgeoning cloud of human flood Held back when I'm trying to fly By busy sidewalks shuffling by The passing parade they never ask why Sometimes my mind is working overtime Feeling like a bucket of slime My friends they're all very kind They cheer me up, they blow my mind When I see everything in a negative light They heal my soul till I feel alright These angels that come to me Beautiful faces that I see Tending to my rotting flesh Helping me to stay so fresh Keeping me company When I'm burning in Hell's firey sea For these beautiful heavenly angels I give my life and my soul The Glorious IRA The Feignian Men Pour me another pint
