Mindfulness Meditation Category: Writing and Poetry The moon, the trees, the stars, all beings everywhere, and even the cosmos Are all trying to tell you something But because your mind is not still You cannot receive the message from the trees You cannot receive the message from other beings You cannot receive the message from the cosmos If your mind is not still You cannot hear what the cosmos are trying to tell you Relax your whole body Relax the hands Let them rest in an easy and comfortable way The chest is open, and the belly is soft Making room for a full breath And then another Not forcing the breath in any way Just letting go You can note in with the in breath Out with the out breath Or the rising and falling sensation of the chest or abdomin In Out In Out Letting go When you become aware of your breath Simply note thinking, thinking, thinking With a gentle, friendly note Without any judgement Noticing thinking And then gently relaxing back Into the flow of the present moment And then another Imagine a lake, in the highlands, among mountains If you look into the lake You see mountains, the sky, the clouds Are all just a reflection on the water The water is perfectly still You are perfectly still like this water Gently relax back into the next breath Not forcing the breath in any way Noting in with the in breath Out with the out breath Letting go You begin to notice that thoughts are not really your own They come into your mind They linger for a little while And if you don't identify or associate yourself with them They meander on their merry way Making way for the next thought to come in Thoughts are not reality They don't mean anything You are much more than your thoughts Notice in with the in breath Out with the out breath Note the rising Falling of the chest or abdomin In Out In Out Not forcing the breath in any way Letting go Aware Aware of where you're sitting Where your feet are Noticing any pain Discomfort Pinching, squeezing, heat, cold And gently relaxing back into the next breath If an uncomfortable thought arises Simply noting it Not avoiding it, or trying to deny it Just noting it And waiting for it to pass Letting go You can hear the far off sound of birds chirping Kids playing Things happening You are at peace Content No need to go anywhere Or do anything Let us enjoy the sound of the bell together And continue to breath in and out
