The gathering of knowledge
The retention of knowledge
vs the ability to formulate your own opinion
And think critically
They are not the same thing poeple
Believe me
Meticulousness, attention to detail, and expertise in 
argumentation
Are no match for humility, wisdom, compassion, and honesty
You see, no matter how much knowledge you gather
No matter how much you can quote me
No matter how many granular details are floating around up in 
your head
You have shown me that you are ignorant
If you have no capacity to think objectively and abstractly
If you know not the fact that there are subtleties
There are also concrete facts
But people with bad motives are expert at manipulating these to 
suit their own selfish agendas
People who sneer and snicker at others
As though they are some how better
Are the worst kind of people
Even if they haven't killed anyone physically
They kill people's dreams and ideas with their staunch 
negativisms and lack of belief
I used to spend too much of my time trying to enlighten these 
people with good intentions
For their own good and for the betterment of the country and the 
world
Then I realized that there are just too many people like this
It wouldn't matter what you told them
They'd still see the world within the narrow frame work set up 
for them by their biased and misguided beliefs
They are also too proud and egotistical to ever admit that they 
might even possibly be in error
These are the people who like to come into poetry blogs and talk 
politics and religion like any of us in here really give a shit 
what they think
I post Godly things, but I never try to tell anyone that my 
beliefs are the only way
Then you get these people who THINK they're enlightening you who 
come along and tell you things about your beliefs that you 
already knew
These are the same people who naively believe that God actually 
made them supeior to other people
That they some how have the inside track to the truth
That any dissenting opinions should be thoroughly laughed at or 
silenced with biased radical echoing of the prevailing ignorant 
long held beliefs of the masses
It's one thing to have book knowledge
People who are wise know that books were written by men who 
studied a particular subject sufficiently to sound like an expert
But book knowledge is no match for personal experience
And doctors, lawyers, priests, mathemeticians, and all other 
manner of so called experts could not hold a candle to a man who 
has experienced something first hand
In my old age I have become wise to these people who love to 
debate
They debate for the sake of debate itself
I took speech in college and I know that you can sell anything 
to anyone
Hitler sold Naziism to the Germans
It's called the power of the situation
Experiments have proven that you can get almost anyone to do 
anything
Depending on the situation
I don't have any more precious time to waste on these 
ignoramouses
They appear to be phenominally gifted with powerful brains
But when you strip away the external veneer of their falsely 
built up facades
They look like the wizard behind the curtain that Dorothy 
discovered so many years ago
They want you to marvel at them because they are insecure
It's all ego
Most people can smell it from a mile away
It doesn't bother most people
But it bothers me because I hate it when idiots think they're 
better than other people when they're not
I'm gonna have to let this shit go before it kills me
I had a person once tell me that it's so important what other 
people think of me that it'll probably kill me some day
