All by yourself in the middle of the forest Category: Writing and Poetry As the snow falls gently to the soft and powdery ground I listen to the calling geese make their familiar sound I roll in the snow and wiggle round and round The fur trees are needle green and pine scented They're coated with fluffy snow Dressed in white where the deer and rabbits can't go Stately, majestic peaks adorn my horizons A stag with a gentle gate leads his herd through the drift I walk in circles as I behold this beautul gift A raccoon begs for a treat I give him an apple As he sits by my feet Marine Corps guard duty has it's advantages Gives you quiet moments to sample nature's vantages All by yourself in the middle of the forest
